Who is J Haleem?
Jamar Washington is an established entrepreneur, photographer, and motivational speaker. J Haleem was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey where his interest for being an entrepreneur was birthed. Despite the many challenges he faced growing up in Newark, he persevered, and graduated high school. Upon graduation he attending Benedict College in Columbia SC. While in college Jamar pursued many ventures that allowed him to nature his love for owning and managing businesses. When he graduated he started his first business at the age of 23 years old. The thus birth the businessman we know today. With more than 15 years of experience as an entrepreneur; he now owns a variety of businesses and he is able to enjoy his passion of entrepreneurship and training start up business owners.
JH Media specializes is a corporate media production company. They specializes in providing visual media products & services to businesses through photography and film. His company produces visual marketing tools for corporate clients to use for digital and print branding.
“I Won’t Starve” is his personal mantra, which is a motivator for current and aspiring entrepreneurs who are building their business. He trains & motivates individuals who are self employed, sharing the keys to success of business by encouraging them that they will not starve if you step out on faith, work your business and focus on continued growth. He host workshops & and trainings focused on helping individuals grow on their jobs and start businesses, so they can one day become self employed.
“In the Studio with J Haleem”, is a weekly podcast created to highlight rising entrepreneurs, business professionals, & community leaders. J Haleem uses this platform to highlight entrepreneurs and to work long side community organizers to build a better support for local business and bring awareness to the current challenges they face.
Jamar is a graduate of Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina where he earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management & Entrepreneurship. He is a member of the 2017 Class of Top 20 Under 40 (SC Black Pages), and his affiliations include: Member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated, Member Professional Photographers of America, Member Columbia Chamber of Commerce and Benedict College Young Alumni Association. Jamar also volunteers his services to a variety community organizations including: The RAM Foundation (Columbia, SC), Mentoring Thorough Music (Atlanta, GA), Carolina School for Inquiry (Columbia, SC), Blend Out (Columbia, SC), Columbia Opportunity Resource (COR) and many others.
